Review: Terre d’Hermès Eau Givrée

Terre d’Hermès needs no introduction. Jean-Claude Ellena’s 2006 masterpiece redefined what a masculine fragrance could be. Eau Givrée asks a different question: what happens when you cool that earth with frost?

The opening is unmistakably Terre — grapefruit and pepper — but something has shifted. A crystalline brightness, almost icy. The vetiver is lighter, the flint muted.

Verdict: Elegant, precise, and beautiful close to the skin. Not a replacement for the original — a companion to it. Rating: 4/5
